A man who was shot by a police officer is in a critical condition, Scotland Yard has said.
Armed officers were called to reports of a vehicle robbery involving guns in Hackney, east London, at about 22:50 GMT on Monday.
The Met confirmed a "police firearm was discharged" at an address on Mandeville Street and the man was taken to hospital. No-one else was injured.
The incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
