Alaettin Kalender cleared of having bomb-making manual

A man has been found not guilty of having a bomb-making manual.

Alaettin Kalender, 50, who used to be a teacher in Turkey, was cleared at the Old Bailey of possessing a record likely to be of use for terrorism.

The court heard police found a magazine by the Revolutionary People's Salvation Party-Front in Turkey when they searched his Hackney home in March.

It contained an article called Training Notes On Making IEDs (improvised explosive devices).

Mr Kalender, who bought and sold publications, agreed he had an interest in armed conflict but could not remember where exactly he got the magazine from.

He told jurors he sometimes got a magazine or pamphlet because he was interested in just one article in it and did not look at anything else.
