Man bailed after police pursuit death in Wandsworth

A 25-year-old man arrested over the death of a woman in a car crash in south-west London has been bailed.

Police investigating a drone flying near Wandsworth Prison were pursuing the car at the time when it crashed in nearby Ashcombe Street on 9 August.

Acacia Smith, 25, a nursery worker from Southall, died.

The man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, supplying controlled drugs and Prison Act offences on 17 August.

He was seriously injured in the crash and had been taken to hospital. He was arrested when he was discharged and has been bailed until mid-October, the Metropolitan Police said.
