Man stabbed near Bethnal Green Tube station after boxing event

A man has died after being stabbed near Bethnal Green Tube station in east London, the Met Police has said.

The victim was found with a chest wound at a petrol station, on the junction of Old Ford Road and Cambridge Heath Road, at 22:35 BST on Friday.

Police believe he had been at a boxing event at York Hall and was stabbed after a row with several people.

The 31-year-old was pronounced dead at hospital about two hours later. No arrests have been made as yet.

The victim's next-of-kin have been informed but a formal identification has not taken place.
