Teacher found not guilty of raping girl in classroom
A teacher has been found not guilty of raping a teenage girl in a classroom at a private school in London.
The jury took less than 30 minutes to clear Kato Harris, 37, from Richmond, of attacking the 14-year-old girl.
She had told Isleworth Crown Court that the geography teacher had raped her three times over a two-month-period during the autumn of 2013.
The court had been told medical staff had suggested the girl's behaviour was attention seeking.
After the verdict, Mr Harris thanked his family, friends, colleagues and pupils for their support and added: "It is my wish that this extraordinary case does not deter people who have been victims of sexual assault from coming forward in the future."
