Met inspector Daniel Williams dismissed for cocaine use

A Metropolitan Police inspector has been dismissed for taking cocaine and amphetamines while off-duty.

Insp Daniel Williams, who worked in the Met Detention custody unit, failed a drugs test on 8 December.

He tested positive for the class A drugs and amphetamines and was accused of discreditable conduct.

Insp Williams was found guilty of gross misconduct at a special hearing on Thursday and has been dismissed without notice.
