Man seriously injured in Clapham hit-and-run

A pedestrian has been seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in south London.

The 54-year-old man was struck by a car on Kings Avenue, near the junction with the South Circular Road in Clapham, just after midnight.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the car involved did not stop at the scene.

A woman, 24, has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop after a collision.

The man was taken to hospital in a serious condition.
