An 18-year-old man has denied killing a teenage cyclist who was stabbed in the chest as he rode alongside friends.

Alan Cartwright, 15, continued cycling for a short distance after the attack in Islington on 27 February but collapsed a short time later.

Joshua Williams, 18, of Davenant Road, Islington, has pleaded not guilty to murder and conspiracy to rob.

Shaquill Roberts, also 18, from Northumberland Park, Tottenham, denied a single count of conspiracy to rob.

Mr Williams, who appeared via video link from Belmarsh prison, and Mr Roberts, were remanded in custody.

Both were told a trial, expected to last three weeks, had been provisionally set to start on 1 September.
