Woman stabbed in Walthamstow dies in hospital

A 26-year-old woman has died in hospital three days after being stabbed at a house in east London.

A six-year-old child was also injured in the attack at a residential property in Hatherley Road, Walthamstow, on Monday.

Police said the attack was not random, but they were trying to establish a clear motive.

The woman was found at the property by emergency services. She had stab wounds to her arm and neck.

Det Ch Insp Glen Lloyd said: "While we continue to investigate the motive to this incident we believe that the suspect and the victim were known to each other.

"People living and working nearby may have seen something that could be of vital importance to investigators."

The child did not require hospital treatment for minor injuries.

No-one has been arrested in connection with the stabbing and police urged anyone with information to contact officers.
