Man charged with rape of pensioner, 80, in west London

A man has been charged with rape after an 80-year-old woman was attacked during a burglary in west London.

The Metropolitan Police said the pensioner was attacked at about 08:00 BST on 16 August, but did not suffer any serious injuries.

Robert Lashley, 32, of Blythe Road, Hammersmith, has been charged with rape and burglary and was remanded in custody.

He is due to appear before West London Magistrates' Court later.
