An explosion in an electrical sub-station has forced the evacuation of an area of Soho in central London.

The blast took place close to the Comedy Store and TGI Friday's on Oxendon Street at about 11:45 BST, London Fire Brigade said.

The brigade said smoke was seen coming from the sub-station, but there was no on-going fire and no one was injured.

About 10 firefighters remain at the site. Some nearby roads have also been cordoned off, according to BBC Travel.
