Pedestrian hit by police van in Enfield

A pedestrian has been hit by a police van in north London.

The injured woman, in her 20s, was struck on Southbury Road in Enfield at about 16:00 BST by the marked van which was travelling eastbound, police said.

The driver and passenger of the police van were male PCs. The pair, who were not injured in the crash, stopped at the scene.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment and is in a stable condition, officers said.

The Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed.
