Man charged over 'burglary' filmed on BBC presenter's camera

A man has been charged after an alleged burglary was filmed on a BBC presenter's wildlife camera.

Nigel Batton, 42, from Lewisham, in south-east London, has been charged with one count of burglary and one count of attempted burglary.

A suspect was captured on former BBC Springwatch presenter Simon King's camera at a property in Herne Hill, south London on 12 January.

The camera filmed a man climbing over a fence and making off across the garden.

The footage was captured on Mr King's "fox camera", which streams live on his website.

Mr Batton will appear at Camberwell Green Magistrates' Court on 14 February.
