Body of woman found in River Roding identified

A woman whose body was found in the River Roding in east London has been identified.

Police were called to Cranbrook, near Ilford golf course at about 09:00 GMT on Sunday after the body was found.

The woman has been named as Lucille Melanie Sanders, also know as Lucille Espinoza, aged 61 and from Redbridge.

The Metropolitan Police said a post-mortem examination did not give a formal cause of death, but the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Further tests are due to be carried out and an inquest has been opened and adjourned at Waltham Forest Coroners Court.
