Police charges after linesman's flag ripped at Millwall game

A Millwall supporter has been charged with criminal damage after an assistant referee's flag was ripped from its pole following a goal-kick decision.

Ian Wilson, 30, of Wisteria Gardens, Swanley was also charged with going into an area adjacent to a play area.

It is alleged he caused the damage after Alan Young did not award a corner in the 3-1 home defeat by Leicester

The Metropolitan Police said he was due to appear at Bromley Magistrates' Court on 16 January.
