The father of Chelsea footballer John Terry is to stand trial for racial assault.

Edward Terry, also known as Ted, pleaded not guilty at the Old Bailey to charges of racially aggravated common assault and racially aggravated fear of violence.

The alleged incident happened in Fenchurch Street in the City of London on 22 March.

The 59-year-old will face trial on 17 March next year.
