A poppy tin has been stolen from a garage in south-west London.

The Met Police said the collection box was on the counter of the Blackhorse Garage on Sheen Road, Richmond on Sunday just after 22:00 GMT.

While the garage manager was distracted, a man used scissors to cut the box away from the cash till.

The man is described as wearing a dark coat and a white jumper with horizontal black stripes. He had a stud earring in his left ear.

A woman who was waiting outside was 5ft 5in tall and wearing a dark jacket with black leggings and white boots.
