A 33-year-old man arrested in connection with her death has been bailed pending further investigations.

Ellie was described as a popular child who "was always giggling away about something" by staff at her school.

'Big smile'

Avenue Primary School head teacher Alex Clark said: "Ellie had many friends at school and this is a very sad time for us all.

"Ellie came to school every morning with a big smile on her face and was always giggling away about something.

"She was polite and well mannered and was a considerate member of the class, always kind and helpful towards her peers."

Officers from the Met Police's homicide and major crime command unit are investigating her death.
