Frederic Russell stabbed Colin Hammond to death

A jury has ruled that a man with schizophrenia stabbed a 65-year-old man to death in a west London street.

Frederic Russell, 28, was charged with murder but was deemed too unwell to stand trial so the jury had to decide if he carried out the stabbing.

Colin Hammond was killed last October as he walked down a street in Putney.

At the Old Bailey, Judge Morris ruled the French national should be sectioned under the Mental Health Act indefinitely.
