Up to 12 postboxes remain sealed in south London after a postman lost a set of keys two weeks ago.

The boxes in Tooting were broken into by staff and emptied before being blocked for security reasons, the Royal Mail said.

A spokesperson, who apologised for any inconvenience caused, said Royal Mail was "chasing up" new locks and hoped to reopen the boxes shortly.

Postboxes in Kensington were also sealed in March after keys were lost.

The Royal Mail would not comment on how much it cost to replace the locks of the postboxes.
