A pedestrian has died in hospital two days after being struck by a cyclist in central London.

David Purkis, 58, from West Wickham had appeared uninjured following the crash on Regent Street on 25 July.

Police said he spoke to the cyclist before walking away, but then suffered a fatal stroke.

Scotland Yard said it was awaiting the results of medical tests but urged the cyclist or witnesses to contact them.
