An 18-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a teenage girl whose body was discovered in east London.

Officers found 17-year-old Cheryl Tariah's body in a flat on the High Street, Barkingside, after being called to reports of a disturbance on Tuesday.

Cheryl, of Chelmsford, Essex, died from strangulation, a post-mortem examination concluded.

Ako Khalid, from High Street, Barkingside, is due to appear at Redbridge Magistrates' Court on Monday,
