Hundreds gather at Barbican marathon dance event

The craze of the dance marathon has returned to London, with hundreds of people expected at a live show at the Barbican Centre this weekend.

The event, described by organisers as "part theatre, part social experiment", is inspired by the human endurance contests of 1920s and 30s America.

Each round is danced out against the clock, until one couple is left standing and crowned champion.
