Woman remanded over murder of pensioner, 91

A woman has appeared at the Old Bailey charged with murdering a 91-year-old man who was found fatally injured in his London home.

William Reilly was found by his son at Tower Gardens, Tottenham, north London, on December 29 by his son.

Mr Reilly was taken to the Royal London Hospital but died on 6 January from a head injury and pneumonia.

Melanie Cole, 49, of Culford Road, Islington, north London, is charged with murdering the retired builder.

No bail application was made and she was remanded in custody to appear at a hearing in April.
