Police appeal after murder of man, 23, in Plumstead

Detectives have appealed for witnesses following the murder of a 23-year-old in south-east London.

Police were called to reports of a man assaulted at a property on Bannockburn Road, in Plumstead, at about 1230 GMT on Friday.

The man was taken to an east London hospital suffering head injuries, but died on Sunday morning.

The identity of the murdered man has not yet been released by police.

A post-mortem to identify the cause of death was due to take place at Greenwich Mortuary on Monday.

Det Ch Insp Damian Allain said: "We would like to hear from anyone who may have information in relation to this murder or who may have seen or heard anything suspicious at the time."
