Two people killed in crashes on Lincolnshire's roads

Police have appealed for witnesses after two people died in separate crashes involving lorries on Lincolnshire's roads.

A 20-year-old woman died after her car collided with a heavy goods vehicle near Spalding.

Lincolnshire Police said the accident happened on the A16 shortly before 16:10 GMT on Friday.

The woman, from Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lorry driver was uninjured.

In the second incident, a pedestrian was killed after being hit by a lorry on the A153 near Ruskington at 02:10 GMT on Saturday.

Police said the 23-year-old local man died at the scene.

The lorry driver, a 32-year-old Ruskington man, was not injured.
