Gainsborough teenage girl stabbed at Heaton Street bus stop

A teenage girl was stabbed while waiting at a bus stop in a small Lincolnshire town.

The 17-year-old suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries in Heaton Street, Gainsborough, shortly before 07:00 BST on Tuesday.

A 16-year-old local boy was arrested in connection with the incident.

The girl, also local, was taken to Queen's Medical Centre, Nottingham, where she was treated for a stab wound and has since been discharged.
