Spalding man charged over historical sex offences

A man has been charged with historic sex offences following a police investigation.

John Edward Bates, formerly of Spalding, Lincolnshire, but now living in London, has been charged with eight counts of indecent assault and one of an attempted sexual offence.

The 67-year-old is accused of committing the offences in and around Spalding between 1979 and 1983.

He is due to appear at Grantham Magistrates' Court on Monday.
