Man 'stabbed in back' in Gainsborough attack

A man has suffered serious injuries, including a possible stab wound to his back, in an assault in Lincolnshire.

The man, 36, was attacked at about 17:00 GMT on Thursday, either in Ropery Road or along the River Trent, which runs parallel to it, in Gainsborough.

Police said he was in a medically induced coma in intensive care in hospital, but was described as stable.

Another 36-year-old man and a 30-year-old woman have been arrested.
