Louth house death treated as murder by police

Police say they are treating the previously "unexplained death" of a man in Lincolnshire as murder.

Officers found the body of Richard Woods, 32, at a house in Spring Terrace, Louth, at about 05:30 GMT on Sunday.

A 23-year-old man, who was in the property, was arrested and remains in police custody.

Officers have appealed to anyone who saw Mr Woods in Louth town centre on Saturday evening to come forward.

Det Ch Insp Martin Holvey said: "Police are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident at this stage but we are trying to establish the circumstances leading up to Mr Woods' death and appeal to anyone who saw him in the preceding hours to contact us."

Results of a post-mortem examination have not yet been revealed.
