Emergency services called to Lincoln Prison are dealing with a bomb hoax, the Ministry of Justice has said.

Staff at the prison in Greetwell Road became aware of the threat at about 07:30 BST.

Two fire engines, three ambulances and an incident response vehicle were called to the prison.

A Prison Service spokesperson said there was no threat to the public, staff or prisoners.

"All necessary procedures and checks are being carried out," they said.
