An ambulance driver accused of causing the death of a 75-year-old Lincolnshire patient by careless driving has pleaded not guilty.

Margaret Allsop, from Sutton on Sea, was being taken to Boston's Pilgrim Hospital on 10 December 2012 when the vehicle crashed into a ditch.

A post-mortem examination revealed she died from head and chest injuries.

Garth Green, 63, from Nelson Way, Grimsby, pleaded not guilty when he appeared before magistrates in Boston.

The case was adjourned until 16 September.

Mr Green elected summary trial after magistrates decided the case was not serious enough to be sent to Lincoln Crown Court.
