Lincolnshire microwave cat killer Paul Henry jailed

A Lincolnshire man who microwaved a cat to death at a friend's flat has been jailed for six months.

Paul Henry, 45, of Lea Place, Gainsborough, was convicted of causing unnecessary suffering to the animal.

Lincoln Magistrates' Court heard how his friend Andrew Parsons, 38, returned from work to find the remains of his cat, Suzie, in the microwave oven.

District judge John Stobart told Henry it was the "worse case of animal cruelty he could imagine".

He said he had given Henry the maximum sentence the law allowed.

The court heard that Henry microwaved the cat on 26 July last year after Mr Parsons allowed him to stop at his home.
