Lincoln perfume company goes into administration

A Lincolnshire perfume company has gone in administration, putting about 90 jobs at risk.

Eros Laboratories, based in Metheringham, Lincoln, specialises in alcohol-based products such as body sprays, as well as creams and lotions.

Parent company Rochmills said Eros had recently faced increasing competition from both within the UK and abroad.

Employees at the Fen Lane site were told the news on Monday, the BBC understands.

In 2004, the company's plans to build a new factory at nearby Potterhanworth were rejected following opposition from local residents.

And in December 2009, the firm's management was restructured following the retirement of its managing director.
