The partner of a man killed in a two-car collision in Lincolnshire at the weekend has given birth to their son.

Matthew Anderson, 25, of Dunston, was killed on Saturday when the car he was travelling in collided with another vehicle at Dunston Heath.

His partner Kirsty Barden, who was also in the car with their six-year-old daughter, gave birth on Tuesday.

Mr Anderson's family paid tribute to him as "a genuine man who would help anyone".

A 21-year-old man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.

Ms Barden and the couple's daughter were also taken to hospital following the crash.

Mr Anderson's parents were in the car travelling behind the couple's.

His father, John Anderson, said: "The shock of seeing him die was just too much for all of us. To go to him and know he wasn't there any more was unbearable."

His mother, Joan, added: "He was such a genuine man who would help anyone. He was a great father and he was looking forward so much to the birth of his son".

Seven other people were also injured in the crash.
