Lincolnshire gas power station plan gets go-ahead

Plans for a £500m expansion of a gas-fired power station in Lincolnshire have been approved by the government.

Construction work at the gas-fired plant in Spalding could begin early next year.

The company behind the plans, Intergen, said the expansion would create 600 construction jobs and about 30 full-time positions.

The new development will sit alongside the existing site on West Marsh Road and will match its output.

It is thought the new power station will take about three years to build.
