Appeal for speed watch volunteers in Wragby

Police have appealed for volunteers to help cut down the number of speeding motorists in a Lincolnshire village.

Officers want people to join a Community Speed Watch scheme in the Wragby area.

Residents and officers will patrol together using radar guns to check the speed of passing motorists at specific hot spots.

Lincolnshire Police said the project was being implemented following concerns from local residents.

Drivers caught exceeding the limit will receive a warning letter together with road safety advice.

PCSO Lorraine Dawson said: "I talk to many residents who clearly feel very strongly about the issue so my appeal to them is please join in and get 'hands on' in tackling the problem.

"I'm confident that, if as many residents as possible donate a few hours of their time, we can really make a difference".

Lincolnshire Police said volunteers will be offered full training.
