An inmate who escaped a jail in Lincolnshire is traced

A convicted killer who absconded from an open prison in Lincolnshire has been traced.

Ian Grierson, 39, originally from the Sheffield area, is serving a life sentence for a murder he committed in his teens.

Before going missing, he was last seen at HMP North Sea Camp in Freiston, near Boston, at 1140 BST on Thursday.

Grierson has now been detained in police custody in south Yorkshire, officers said on Friday.

North Sea Camp Prison is a Category D jail for men.
