Teenage boy dragged from sea at Lincolnshire resort

A 17-year-old boy is recovering in hospital after being dragged out of the sea at a Lincolnshire resort.

His 10-year-old step-brother also got into trouble in the water on Friday night in Skegness.

The teenager was rescued by his father but had to be revived by paramedics who took over from the coastguard and lifeboat crews.

He was taken by rescue helicopter to the Boston Pilgrim Hospital where his condition was described as stable.

Samantha Jessop, coastguard sector manager in Skegness, said: "The water temperature this time of the year is probably the warmest it will reach at 16C to 18C and the weather has been reasonably kind today."

The incident happened south of the Butlin's complex, near the Beachcomber pub.
