Boston firm wins £24m rail ticket contract

A Lincolnshire company has won a £24m contract to supply rail tickets to all the UK train operating companies.

Magnadata International has been awarded the five-year deal by the Association of Train Operating Companies (ATOC).

The products will be manufactured from the firm's base in Boston where 220 people are employed.

The firm already supplies tickets for London Underground, New York Metro and Sydney Rail.

Magnadata said it means it will supply approximately 750 million magnetic stripe tickets a year, distributed to over 2,500 rail stations throughout the UK.

John Wise, divisional director at Magnadata International, said: "We are delighted that we have been awarded this major UK contract which helps to consolidate and expand our existing business.
