Police contact with street death victim to be probed

A police force is under investigation after a man was found dead in a car park.

Promise Ndlovu, 40, was found by a member of the public in Charter Street, Leicester, on 29 October.

Five men have been charged in connection with his death, the cause of which has not yet been confirmed.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) is investigating contact between Leicestershire Police and Mr Ndlovu before his death.

Derrick Campbell, from the IPCC, said: "We have extended our condolences to his family and we have met with them to explain our role, as well as assuring them that they will be updated on our inquiries."

Ramandeep Dhaliwal, 34, and Kehar Hayer, 55, both of Spencefield Lane, Leicester, have been charged with conspiracy to murder.

Kuldeep Singh, 36, Bikramjeet Singh, 27, and Kulwinder Singh, 28, all of Cannon Street, Leicester, have been charged with conspiracy to pervert the court of justice.
