A man arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a cyclist died near Leicester railway station has been released on bail.

Sam Boulton, 26, was hit by a van at about 13:20 BST on 27 July on London Road. He later died in hospital.

Leicestershire Police said a 50-year-old man was questioned and released.

The road was closed between Station Street and the entrance to the station but later reopened. Police have appealed for witnesses.

In a statement, Mr Boulton's father Jeff said: "We would like to thank you all for your kind wishes, love and support for our beautiful son, brother and fiancé. We are asking you to respect the privacy of both families during this sad time."
