Leicester plastics factory death prompts investigation
The police and Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are investigating after the death of a man who was injured at a plastics engineering factory.
The 52-year-old was injured at Nylacast Engineering Plastic Solutions in Leicester, on Friday.
He was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham where he died on Saturday morning.
The company said it was "deeply saddened" and "devastated" by the "tragedy".
A spokesperson for the firm said: "Our most heartfelt sorrow, thoughts and wishes are with the family and friends of our colleague involved.
"We are working closely with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to investigate and understand the incident along with co-operating fully with the necessary authorities.
"As a company, Nylacast are devastated, we pride ourselves on our excellent safety record and this is the first time anything like this has happened in our 49-year history."
