Driver killed in M69 crash in Leicestershire

A man has been killed in a crash on the Leicester-bound carriageway of the M69.

The 37-year-old driver of a black Ford Ka was pronounced dead at the scene on Saturday morning.

The motorway was closed while officers investigated the accident, which took place near Thurlaston in Leicestershire.

Anyone who saw the vehicle being driven beforehand or the crash itself, which happened at 00:20 BST, is asked to contact Leicestershire Police.
