More than 1,000 jobs could be created if plans for a £150m shopping park in Leicester are approved.

Final plans for the Castle Acres project, which include 26 stores, restaurants and cafes, have been submitted to Blaby District Council.

The centre would be linked to the neighbouring current shopping site Fosse Park.

Developers said about 1,100 full-time jobs would be created along with "hundreds" of construction jobs.

The park is planned to be built on the current site of Everards Brewery which plans to move to Soar Valley Way.

A public consultation is underway with a planned opening in summer 2018 if council planners approve the application when it is discussed in August.
