Man injured in Oakham assault is airlifted to hospital

A man has been airlifted to hospital after reports of an assault at a block of flats in Rutland.

Leicestershire Police said they were called to Derwent Drive in Oakham at about 12:50 GMT.

The man, 47, was flown to hospital, where he is being treated for his injuries. East Midlands Immediate Care doctors reported the man was stabbed.

A 40-year-old woman has been arrested and police said the investigation into what happened was at an early stage.
