Motorists faced delays of several hours when a lorry overturned on the M1 in Leicestershire.
The accident happened on the southbound carriageway at junction 22 in Leicestershire shortly before 14:00 GMT.
It involved a lorry transporter which was carrying two lorry cabs. No other vehicle was involved.
Leicestershire Police said one person had been taken to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham with minor injuries.
One lane of the northbound carriageway was also closed while work was carried out to remove the lorry from the carriageway.
The motorway reopened around 19:00 GMT.
The Highways Agency said it would be closed again between junctions 22 and 21a from 22:00 GMT until the early hours of Thursday for further repairs to be carried out.
