Woman arrested in Scalford village murder probe

A 31-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a man's death in a Leicestershire village.

Police were called to King Street, in Scalford, at 01:10 GMT on Tuesday following a report of a man being hurt.

The man, who has not yet been formally identified, was taken to Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre where he died.

Detectives, who have started a murder investigation, are awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination to establish his cause of death.

The scene was cordoned off for forensic examinations.

Leicestershire Police has appealed for witnesses to come forward.
