Teenager found injured in Leicester city centre street

A teenager found injured in a Leicester street is in a serious but stable condition in hospital, according to police.

The 18-year-old was discovered in the Clarence Street area of the city centre at about 23:10 GMT on Wednesday.

He was taken by ambulance to Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment.

Leicestershire Police said it had lifted the three cordoned-off areas in the city, which were in place to allow an examination to be carried out.

The force has appealed to anyone with information about the incident to get in touch.
