Carly Jacques in court charged with baby Skye's murder

A Leicester mother has appeared in court charged with murdering her seven-month-old baby daughter.

Police were called to an address on Netherhall Road shortly after 10:00 GMT on Sunday and took a woman and child to hospital.

The baby, named as Skye Jacques, died later.

Her 32-year-old mother Carly Jacques appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court where she was remanded in custody.

She is due to appear at Leicester Crown Court on 3 November.
